Tasting Room OPEN in downtown Newberg

Our wines can be hard to find.  It's true, we don't get out there and knock on doors selling the wine much.  And even though the project was a bit daunting, we decided to make purchasing our wines in human form a more fun and pleasant experience - for everybody involved.  One of the best aspects of buying in the Longplay Wine Tasting Room is you can try the wines before you buy!  One of the worst aspects is, well, you'll need to listen to some scratchy vinyl and the guy working in the shop can be a bit cranky at times.  He never was very fond of working weekends ... buy a bottle, cheer him up.

Address:  215 E First Street, Newberg
Hours: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
Other days cheerfully by appointment.

WineUp Interview

Longplay - limited production, yes, but now with increased availability

We continue to make about 500 cases annually.  But we like to see our wine in shops and restaurants around the world.   You can find our wines in our tasting room, of course.  But you can also find it in a few outlets in Oregon and Washington.  And Southern California.  Oh, and Virginia and Washington, DC.  And we've even sold a few dozen cases to Denmark and Ontario!  Huge thanks to our distribution partners for their hard work and for believing in us.

Vintage 2011 - another bizarre vintage

It was a bit scary at times, but every vintage has its white knuckle moments.  We finished picking vintage 2011 on November 2nd.  It is totally amazing that the weather remained so nice so late in the year.  We had been afraid that all the fruit would need to come in over a couple days, but instead we were able to pick over more than a week with near ideal conditions.  Our fruit came in clean, tasty and ripe and all of our grape clients were pleased.  Yields were pretty much spot on target - a tad under 2 tons per acre for the most part.  It is too early to judge the vintage, but all the ingredients are there for another batch of outstanding wines.  We tasted through the barrels the other day and the wines are really, really awesome - although I think I've mentioned that tends to be a bit of enthusiasm in the barrel cellar that can bias the palate.  We might try a few micro bottlings from the various lots for Groove Club members and to keep things exciting in the tasting room.

About Groove Club

If you would like to learn about upcoming events and new releases, join our Longplay Wine Groove Club.  While we've never been big on exclusivity or privilege, we think fans of our wines should be recognized.  Right now the club carries no obligations whatsoever; but we are formulating plans to begin offering regular shipments of wine to club members.  We think wine clubs should be special, so we plan to do our best to make ours pretty compelling.

Just drop us a line.  It is free to join and will entitle you to special members-only pricing opportunities, free or discounted entry to selected events, and maybe a quarterly or semi-annual update on what is happening at the farm.  Be sure to read our Privacy Policy on our Contact page.
